Today my school hosted a workshop led by Elizabeth Dow and her coworkers. I was lucky enough to be one of approximately fifteen students who got to participate. The more I researched Elizabeth Dow, the more intrigued I became. Starting out at a color field painter, now creating handmade wallpapers, this woman was right up my alley! During the workshop we got to experience a variety of her working methods, including gold leaf and collage. The picture that goes along with this post is the collaged poplar paper sample. I love how you can tell all the different hands that went into making it.
